Yes! We are insured through Pet Sitters Associates!

Consultations are mandatory before any booking with new clients and typically last 30-60 minutes in your home. For dogs, you may request to also meet in a neutral public space for your consultation as well. We prefer in-home consultations to meet your pet and view their environment and daily routine.

Yes! What started as one of three part-time jobs in 2017 quickly grew into a full scale business. I have been working full time since 2018!

After completing a consultation, we will help set up your Client Account through Time to Pet. You may send booking requests to be approved, text our business number or email us to request that we book your stay manually in our system.

We have worked with many breeds of cats and dogs along with various exotic birds, reptiles, fish and other small mammals. We specialize with special needs pets, senior cats and dogs. If you have an exotic pet we are not familiar with, we will spend time getting to know more about your animal’s needs along with what to look out for when they are in our care!

Dog walking services require a notice of 24 hours. Drop-in services require cancellation notice 7 days in advance. Housesitting requires cancellation of 7 days in advance, 14 days (about 2 weeks) for Holiday Bookings. Deposits are nonrefundable for holidays and bookings longer than 2 weeks. Emily Says Sit LLC reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the scheduled visits for services canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice prior to the scheduled service. In the event a sitter cancels a service, owners will be notified and fully refunded. 

Payment is due one day after the last day of your service. Once booking is confirmed you are welcome to submit a partial or full payment for your booking

Services lasting 2 weeks or more as well as Holiday services may require a deposit of 20% or more.

General Policies

Consultations: Before booking a service or a service begins, New clients must fill out a form and schedule a consultation in advance of desired booking. Consultations are free! Consultations may take 30-60 minutes to  complete. It is important to meet you and your pet in their home so we can get to know them and see their usual  routine. We will provide you with a full list of services and go over our policies.  

Services: Emily Says Sit LLC agrees to provide pet sitting, dog walking and other applicable pet care services in a  reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. In consideration of the services and as an express condition thereof, the  client expressly waives and releases Emily Says Sit LLC from any and all claims against the company, its owners,  employees and representatives, except those arising from negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Emily Says Sit LLC. Client agrees to notify Emily Says Sit LLC of any concerns within 24 hours of completion of services. Services are not confirmed until payment or deposit is submitted. 

Service times may change or be delayed due to traffic, the weather or emergencies. We will best accommodate you  and your pet as best as can. We ask for our walk and drop in services to include a time frame of the earliest and latest you require a service to start so we can best schedule services to best serve you and your pet. 

House entry and Keys: Emily Says Sit LLC requires two working keys for access to your home along with two means  of entry required in the event of code lock of door or garage offline due to low battery or loss of power. Client  must give sitters the authority to employ a locksmith on their behalf and to promptly reimburse the sitter for all  costs incurred in the event of a malfunction of the lock, keys or automatic door opener. For entry codes you may  provide us with temporary or customized codes for entry to your home. Custom codes may also be created for  security systems the client may use in their home.  

Reservations: Reservations should be made as soon as you’ve finalized your travel plans so we may reserve the  time(s) of the day you prefer. PLEASE NOTE: Reservations made during the holidays should be made no less than two weeks in advance due to availability. Bookings for drop-ins and walks that are requested 48 hours or less than  scheduled service may be subject to a “last minute” booking fee. 

Pets: ALL pets should be up-to-date on vaccinations and proof submitted at the time of the in-home  consultation. Client represents and warrants that pet(s) are currently vaccinated in accordance with all local,  state and federal laws and regulations. If Vaccinations are out of date, services are halted until pet(s) vaccination records are updated. Emily Says Sit LLC cannot provide service for aggressive animals or those with a history of  biting. This is for our safety. We require up to date vaccinations of Rabies, Bordetella, Lepto, Distemper and Canine Influenza. Puppies must have at least the first two rounds of vaccinations to be eligible for some services

It is highly recommended that ALL pets wear identification tags while in our care. Dogs will have their collars  taken off when placed in kennel to prevent injury or hanging. Emily Says Sit LLC shall exercise all precautions  against sickness, injury, escape, loss, accidents or death of Client’s pet(s). Emily Says Sit LLC is not responsible for  sickness, injury, escape, loss accidents or death of Client’s pet(s) unless caused through negligence or willful  misconduct on the part of Emily Says Sit LLC. We are trained to administer oral medication as well as injections for  cats and dogs. If your pet requires melatonin or CBD treats for anxiety or stress, owners must give consent before  sitter administers. 

Owners are subject to uphold the basic standards of shelter, access to food and water, air ventilation, sanitation  for their animal’s care. Signs of abuse and neglect will be reported to proper authorities for parish and will result in the termination of services.  

Owners must notify of illness, medical diagnosis before bookings including known bumps, missing or chipped  teeth, and physical disabilities. Keep us updated on your pet’s health so we can best serve you. In the event of a  pet being diagnosed with a contagious disease the sitter has the right to terminate the booking for the safety of  themselves and other animals in their care so that they can avoid contamination or spread. 

Emily Says Sit LLC reserves the right to refuse pet sitting care to any pet owner for any reason.  

Client Property: Emily Says Sit LLC is not liable for any loss or damage in the event of a burglary or other crime  that should occur while under contract.  

Client agrees to properly secure the home prior to leaving the premises. We will re-secure the home to the  best of its ability at the end of each visit. Emily Says Sit LLC is not responsible for any damages beyond the  control of the Pet Sitter. 

Client is responsible for supplying the necessary equipment and supplies needed for the care of their pet(s)  including, but not limited to, a sturdy, well-fit harness or collar and leash for walks or in case of emergencies,  pet food, medications, identification tags, litter boxes, cat litter and cleaning supplies. Client authorizes any  purchase of necessary for the satisfactory performance of duties. Costs of all purchases and related service  fees will be reimbursed to Pet Sitting Company with 14 days. 

We are not liable for the escape of your animal in the event of the owner having a damaged or fallen fence or gate,  sudden break of a collar or harness. It is owners responsibility to check and maintenance their property for the  safety of their pets and the sitter. 

Please notify sitter of any poisonous plants or material on your property. Please be sure to keep things hazardous  to your pets health out of their reach.

Cameras: Emily Says Sit LLC reserves the right to know the placement of any cameras inside  or outside of the home. Failure to comply with this policy will lead to refusal of service or  immediate termination of services. No cameras allowed in the bedroom or bathroom that  sitter will use for house sitting services.  

Backup Sitter: In the event of a sitter’s injury, illness or emergency, services may be delayed, rescheduled or  cancelled. Owners will be notified of any delay or emergency. Emily Says Sit LLC will also notify you if we are able  to schedule another sitter to provide services. We recommend to always have a backup sitter or emergency  contact. We want to ensure your pet is always taken care of and attended to. 

Shared services: Emily Says Sit LLC does not allow job sharing. Our insurance and bonding policies only apply to  Emily Says Sit LLC sitters/employees. 

Emergencies: We recommend you have a credit card on file with your primary veterinarian before your booking. Emily Says Sit LLC will follow the directions of the Veterinary Release Form in the case a pet should  become injured or sick. Client accepts responsibility for all medical expenses and other damages resulting from  an injury to the Pet Sitter, other persons or other animal(s) caused by the Client’s pet(s) or negligent act. Client  agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and defend Emily Says Sit LLC in the event of a claim by any person injured  or otherwise damaged by Client’s pet(s) or negligent act. We recommend an emergency contact along with an  owner’s plan in place of an emergency. We require are least two emergency contacts. We recommend to always  make a plan if you have a senior pet or your pet is diagnosed with a life threatening illness in the event of their  passing during your trip.  

Weather: In the case of an emergency, inclement weather or a natural disaster, the Client authorizes Emily Says Sit  LLC to use reasonable judgment for the care and well being of Client’s pet(s) and residence. We will make  reasonable efforts to maintain service during these conditions but reserves the right to adjust the schedule of  service based on our sole discretion. 

Natural Disasters/ Acts of God: In the event of a hurricane or natural disaster – please have a plan in the event we require you to retrieve your pet from overnight boarding. Have emergency contacts and a plan in place for your  booking. Any Hurricanes category 2 and above we will immediately cancel services and resume once the event has  passed. If an evacuation is called, we will contact you or your emergency contact to retrieve your pet safely. 

Travel fee: Travel charges based $1.00 per mile outside of working radius of 10-15 miles.  

Payment: Client agrees to pay all charges accrued for services rendered. Client understands that  payment is due at or prior to the time of the commencement of services unless explicably agreed  upon supplementary payment terms. Deposits may be required for long stays or Holiday bookings.  Past due payments may result in the halt of all services until full payment. 

Cancellations: Cancellations vary per service. Dog walking services require a notice of 24 hours.  Drop in services require cancellation notice 7 days in advance. Housesitting requires cancellation of  7 days in advance, 14 days for Holiday Bookings. If a cancellation is made in short notice, owners  will receive a partial refund if a nonrefundable deposit was not previously included. Emily Says Sit  LLC reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the scheduled visits for services  cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice prior to the scheduled service. Emily Says Sit LLC holds  the right to cancel a booking for any reason. In the event a sitter cancels a service, owners will be  notified and fully refunded. 

Pet waste: scooping and bagging poop is included for all services. The disposal of animal waste is important to  prevent the spread of parasites and disease to other animals in your area. It is preferred for clients to provide poop bags for walks. If you do not have poop bags or run out, please give us notice so that we can provide out own for  your service. Full yard scoop cleaning is not included in any service.  

Firearms: all firearms must be safely unloaded and stored out of reach of the sitter as well as their pets. NO  EXCEPTIONS.  

Emily Says Sit LLC reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time if the Pet Sitter, in his/her sole  discretion, determines that the Client’s pet(s) poses a danger to the health or safety of itself, other pets, other  people or the Pet Sitter. If concerns prohibit the Pet Sitter from caring for the pet, Emily Says Sit LLC will attempt to  contact to contact the Client to arrange alternative care. If the Client cannot be contacted, the Client authorizes  Emily Says Sit LLC to place the pet in a licensed kennel with all charges and fees arising to be the responsibility of  the Client. 

Emily Says Sit LLC reserves the right to refuse pet sitting care to any pet owner for any reason. 

Dog Walking Policies

Leashes: No retractable leashes for large or medium dogs that pull. Please use the appropriately sized collar or  harness for your dog.  

Hot Days: Sitter will check concrete and asphalt for safe conditions for your pet’s feet. If the surface is too hot, we  may resume walks on the grass or do a potty break with the remainder of the service’s time inside to play. Walk  times may be shortened due to high humidity or heat advisories.  Black haired dogs absorb more heat to their body due to the color of their coat. Walk times will be shortened in  the event of hot conditions.

Housesitting Policies

Before your booking: Please leave specific instructions relating to the current visit if there are any changes in  routine. While we have the instructions in our files from the original consultation, things may have changed  slightly from the previous visit. Also, please advise us if there is alarm code or key changes before you leave.  Make sure we have up-to-date emergency contact info in the case we are unable to get into your home or if  there are questions or issues that arise while you are away. Please leave food, medications, special treats, or  cat litter disposal bags where we can easily see them. 

Home must be clean at beginning of stay for a safe and comfortable environment. Owners must check their home  for hazards, damaged fence, gates etc.  

Cleaning supplies must be provided in the event of any mess by owner’s pet. Owners must reimburse sitter for any  supplies that need to be purchased if no supplies are provided.  

Tasks while sitting in your home will include the care of your pets, retrieving mail and packages, scooping poop if  required, watering plants if requested for a small fee. Sitter will clean up after themselves before departure such  as cleaning used bedding and blankets, dishes, cleaning counters, floors if needed and taking out trash. House  sitting does not include any additional cleaning.  

Arrival home: Owners must notify the sitter when they return home safely. If you are returning late please give  notice in case we need to provide more services for you pet until you arrive back home.

Drop-In Care Policies

Before your booking: Please leave specific instructions relating to the current visit if there are any changes in  routine. Make sure we have up-to-date emergency contact info in the case we are unable to get into your home or if there are questions or issues that arise while you are away. Please leave food, medications, special treats, or  cat litter disposal bags where we can easily see them. 

Pets Indoors: Cats must be kept indoors at all times unless they are feral cats in your care. Not liable for injuries,  attack or invasion by other animals or wildlife. Dogs must be always indoors when not being services by sitter. Dogs who have access to outdoors via dog door must sign waiver if owner requires dog door to be always open. 

Mandatory minimum visits: Minimum drop in visits for dogs are 3 visits per day. Dogs require at least 3 potty  breaks a day. Holding their bladder for extended periods of time past 8 hours is dangerous to their health. Cats require a minimum visit rate of one per 24 hours. No skipped days, no exceptions. 

Walks: Drop-in visits may include walks at no extra cost. 

Arrival home: Owners must notify the sitter when they return home safely. If you are returning late, please give  notice in case we need to provide more services for your pet until you arrive back home.  

Overnight Boarding Policies

Fleas: Owners must check fleas before any boarding services. If fleas are found, owners may be subject to pay for  flea bathing and treatment of your pets as well as others in attendance at the time of your stay.  

Vaccinations: We require up to date vaccinations of Rabies, Bordetella, Lepto, Distemper and Canine Influenza. Puppies must have at least the first two rounds of vaccinations to be eligible for some services. 

Spay/Neuter: We require all adult dogs be spayed or neutered to board overnight. Large adult dogs must be fixed  if past 2 years of age. NO INTACT FEMALES older than 2 years are permitted.  

Grooming: Dogs must arrive clean and smell free of any offending odors, nails must be decent length or trimmed.  Baths are available upon request for a small fee. 

24 hour pick up policy: 50% of nightly service charge will be applied for dogs picked up past 5pm.
